Oyewole Sariyu Bukola (Ph. D) hails from the Asalofa and Kolawolu compounds in Offa Local Government Area of Kwara State. I am currently a Director of Community Health and was appointed as the pioneer Provost of the College of Community Health at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital in March 2024.

My Tertiary Education started at the University of Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, where I studied Health Education and was awarded bachelor’s degree in health education in 2004. In 2008, I obtained a master’s degree in Community Health at the University of Ilorin, Ilorin. I became a registered and licensed Community Health Practitioner after my Diploma in Community Health at the then Community Health Officers’ Training Institution, UITH, Ilorin, in 2008. I also obtained a Diploma in Education (Primary Health) at the University College Hospital, Ibadan in 2011.

 In 2016, I took the bold step of kick-starting my Ph. D journey and bagged a Ph. D in Health Education at the University of Ilorin, Ilorin, in 2022.

I started my career at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital as a Staff Nurse/ Midwife in 1992 and worked in various units where I carried out my duties diligently. In 2007, I was transferred to the department of Epidemiology and Community Health where I began my journey as a Community Health Practitioner and have now ascended the ladder to the position of Director of Community Health. In March 2024, I was appointed as the pioneer Provost of the College of Community Health.

I have served in various committees and non-governmental organizations. I was a member of the committee for the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital Day; member, Strategic Planning; member, Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU), University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, Ilorin.

Currently, I am a member of the Offa Descendant Union North America (ODUNA); member, Offa Descendant’ Union United Kingdom (ODUUK); member of Board of Trustees for SAKINAH Medical Outreach; member Kwara State Association of Nigeria (KSANG) North America.

I have also served as both internal and external examiner in various Colleges of Community Health. I am happily married and blessed with children and grandchildren.
