2025 ODUNA MEDICAL MISSION EVENTS SUMMARY
ODUNA 2025 MEDICAL MISISON OUTREACH VOLUNTEERS:
- Fifty-two (52) registered volunteer doctors
- Two hundred (200) registered volunteers
ODUNA 2025 MEDICAL MISSION OUTREACH PROVISIONS:
- Consulted about 3,300 patients.
- Approximately eighty (8) surgeries.
- Conducted one hundred and one (101) cataract surgeries.
SERVICES PROVIDED AT THE 2025 ODUNA MEDICAL MISSION
- General Surgeries.
- Gynecological surgeries,
- Plastic Surgeries.
- Pediatric, and podiatry procedures.
- Hundreds received chiropractic services.
- Scores of Dental cares.
- Thousands received Ophthalmic services.
- Over 1,600 pairs of glasses were distributed.
- All patients received free medications.
AWARDS AND SUPPORTS FOR ODUNA 2025 MEDICAL MISSION
- Dr. Adegboyega Abdulkadir – ODUNA Medical Mission Chairman, won the “Johns Hopkins 2024 Martin Luther King Award for Community Service” – With a Financial Award of $5,000. Which was donated to ODUNA. And will be utilized for the 2026 ODUNA Medical Mission.
- Dr. Yaron Raducanu (Dr. Ron) – Facilitated Several financial donations/grants for the 2025 ODUNA medical Mission. Messrs. “Bakotic Pathologist Associates LLC” donated the sum of $500 to support the 2025 ODUNA medical mission. He also facilitated a grant from Messrs. “Paragon 28 INC” for a sum of $5,000 to support ODUNA Medical mission which was eventually received by ODUNA and will be utilized for the 2026 ODUNA medical.
Dr. Ron was present at the 2025 medical mission on his own account and provided services in his specialty area and performed podiatry surgeries for patients during the mission. Dr. Ron is unrelenting in his quest to assist ODUNA to reach her potential.
- Dr. Adegboyega Abdulkadir – ODUNA Medical Mission Chairman, also launched the ‘Save a Sight fundraising campaign’ among his family, friends, and close associates. And raised funds to pay for fifty cataract surgeries during the mission at a cost of ₦2.25 million and will be paying for the remaining twenty-five cataract surgeries that could not be completed during the mission, including one hemorrhagic cataract surgery.
- ITURA-Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Solution second year deployment for 2025 ODUNA medical mission – 90% of our patients used ITURA Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and are now documented with their pictures on file. This EMR helps us become more efficient in the long term and enhance our ability to deliver better-quality services to our people. The ITURA-EMR was provided by Dr. Elizabeth Olawoyin, the CEO of Toybeth Systems, who generously provided ITURA EMR to ODUNA at no cost.
- The Farida Hope for Children Network from Canada partnered with ODUNA; Brought the “Read with Treats” program to two schools in Offa. Where Reading sessions were held, and the children were given books and treats. It was a wonderful experience for both the children and their teachers. Mrs. Farida Audu, a children’s book author, donated her books to the children. ODUNA appreciates the partnership.
- “Nourish to Flourish” partnered with ODUNA, a program facilitated by Mr. Kayode Ibitogbe (Sir K.). Under this program, packed food items were distributed to three hundred families. Food items were also donated to the Motherless Babies Home and the Handicapped Children’s Center, along with special books for the children.
- ‘Dr. Tolani Abdulkadir’ – “Random Act of Kindness” by distributing various items to children and their mothers, including packs of pens, pencils, erasers, toothpaste, toothbrushes, different toys, diapers, wet wipes, soft toys, and more.
- ‘Hajia Tawakalitu Awesu’ – Donated the following to support ODUNA 2025 Medical mission; Hepatitis B Surface Antigen (HbsAg) Kit =200pcs and PSA Kit = 100pcs (for 40+ male only).
- Sakinah Medical Outreach – Supported 2025 ODUNA Medical Mission Outreach program by Sponsoring 50 Cataract Surgeries at the Sum of N1.7 million naira and sent about 10 Medical Doctors to participate in the ODUNA 2025 Medical Mission as medical providers and surgeons, respectively.
- The University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) – Under the Leadership and magnanimity of Professor A D Yusuf, supported ODUNA by providing Transportation and other logistics for medical personnels from the teaching hospital to participate as volunteers at the 2025 ODUNA Medical Mission.
- The Offa Doctors – The medical Doctors under the auspices of this great association were visibly present in droves to volunteer at the 2025 ODUNA medical mission.
- The “General Hospital Offa” Theater Team – The General Hospital under the leadership of Dr. Abdulsalam supported the 2025 ODUNA medical mission by providing a section of the hospital theater for many numbers of surgical operations conducted by ODUNA at the 2025 Medical Mission
- The Chairman of Offa Local Government – Supported ODUNA by providing transportation support to haul some of ODUNA imported goods from Lagos to Offa. This support is invaluable and massive to the success of the 2025 ODUNA medical mission.
- The Federal Polytechnic Offa (FedpOffa) – The institution, under the leadership of the Rector-Engr. Kadiri, provided over a weeklong transportation Support for the 2025 ODUNA medical mission. This Support assisted in saving cost for ODUNA transportation and other logistic needs.
ODUNA 10TH MEDICAL MISSION ANNIVERSARY EVENT
We had great presentations and speeches, and the donations and pledges went well. We are still expecting donations from many who were unable to attend.
ODUNA ladies looked incredibly beautiful in Aso Ebi, and the men looked great too. The event was impressive and successful. The press was present, the event was streamed live, and it was covered in the news.
The anniversary event was a remarkable success despite the challenges we faced. We missed some notable people who were absent with apologies, but we had the honor of hosting highly reputable guests, including:

• Honorable DanBaba, representing Distinguish Senator Sadiq Suleiman – (Chairman of the 10th Medical Mission anniversary event).
• Mr. Mubarak Shittu, representing Dr. Lanre Shittu
• Mr. Musliu Akinsanya (“MC Oluomo”), President of NURTW, along with many state chairmen of the NURTW
• Mrs. Halimat Salako, representing the National President of Offa Descendants Union (ODU)
ODUNA SCHOLARSHIPS 2025 SUPPORT AND RECIPIENTS
The ODUNA Scholarship event was held on Sunday, January 19th, 2025. The university scholarship recipients were expanded to fifteen beneficiaries.
- Twenty-four (24) high school students (Senior secondary Schools level students) were each awarded ₦40,000.
- Fifteen (15) confirmed university students were each awarded the sum of ₦100,000. One of the recipients of the university scholarship is a previous beneficiary of the ODUNA scholarship program.
Scholarship sponsorship –
- “An anonymous donor” – donated the sum of N750,000 to sponsor ten (10) university scholarship recipients at the previous award rate of N75,000 per recipient.
- “An anonymous donor” – donated the sum of N250,000 to sponsor ten (10) of the High School recipients at the previous award sum of N25,000 per recipient.
- Alhaji AbdulFatai Lawal – donated N150,000 to sponsor two (2) university scholarship recipients at the previous award rate of N75,000 per recipient.
- The “Aduke Okin Foundation” founded by Mr. Lanre Ahmed, with the support of Dr. Mariam Jummai Yasin – donated the sum of N440,000 to sponsor five (5) university scholarship recipients in honor of Alhaja Lola Mustapha.
THE ODUNA DOCUMENTARY
“ILU OKIN” – a story about ODUNA 10 years of medical mission outreach program
The ILU OKIN film crew, led by Adetola Abdulkadir, was busy from the moment they arrived in Offa throughout the mission. They interviewed many prominent people in Offa. We wish them a successful production. Watch Out……
ODUNA 2025 MEDICAL MISSION DONATIONS
ODUNA also donated medical consumables, medications, and small equipment to:
• Offa General Hospital
• Offa Metropolitan Club Medical Center (OMC)
• University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, Ilorin (UITH)
One incubator was donated to each of these centers and contributed medical textbooks to UITH.
ODUNA 2025 MEDICAL MISSION MOU WITH UNIVERSITY OF ILORIN
ODUNA also signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the University of Ilorin.
The University team – The MOU Signing Ceremony was attended by The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Professor Abdulwahab Egbewole and Other University Dons, and the Director Centre for International Education, Professor Lateef Onireti Ibraheem, and his team.
The ODUNA team – The MOU signing ceremony was attended by The President of ODUNA, Engr. Abdulmajeed Lawal, Dr. Adegboyega Abdulkadir, who is the committee chairman of ODUNA medical mission, and several ODUNA National Executive members, Ex – officials and other members.
ODUNA 2025 MEDICAL MISSION PUBLIC LECTURE PRESENTATION EVENT
The Faculty of Clinical Sciences, University of Ilorin in Collaboration with Offa Descendants Union of North America (ODUNA) organized and presented a Faculty Public Lecture.
